NFL Offseason Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were one of best explosive teams on offense last year. But with the inconsistency of this team it lead them to a 5-11 record.

The Bucs had one of the biggest problems this year in the NFL. It was the quarterback situation, we had no idea which quarterback would finish the game. One week its Ryan “Fitzmagic” Fitzpatrick or Jameis Winston.

Plus the defense was another issue they would not get stops until the 4th quarter when they have to come from behind. The offense would get the scores to make the game close but the defense would give up the game winning score.

Going into this offseason they also made a lot of coaching changes. They hired former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians as their head coach and Todd Bowles as the defensive coordinator.

From what it looks like they will lose wide receiver Desean Jackson in free agency so they need to fill that void and address the defense as much as possible.

The Bucs only have 7 million to play with this free agency. So they need to be smart. I think need to target DT Johnathan Hankins  and WR Breshad Perriman. These are players they need to target because they will fill the biggest holes on the team.

Hankins can help Jason Pierre-Paul and Gerald McCoy. Hankins proved when he played with the New York Giants that he can rush the passer with help and that will happen if he goes to Tampa.

Perriman will give the Bucs the speed element if Jackson leaves the team. He might not be as fast as Jackson but Perriman can blow the top off a defense which helps Jameis Winston.

Going into the draft I think they will make some surprising picks in this draft.

1st: Greedy Williams CB, 2nd: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson S, 3rd: Joe Jackson DE, 4th: Isaiah Prince OT, 5th: Alex Barnes RB.

I do believe the Bucs will go secondary players in the first two rounds because they will lose players in free agency which will make thin at corner and safeties. After those picks I think they focus on D-line and help the depth of the offense.
