NFL offseason Preview: Houston Texans

The Houston Texans might be able to live up to the hype now. Last year the Houston Texans had an awful start to their season. They went from 0-3 looking like pretenders to finish 11-5 to people finally seeing them as contenders.

Coming into this year I thought quarterback DeShaun Watson was going to win the MVP because look at the weapons he had coming into this season.

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans

He had the speedy Will Fuller V, the reliable DeAndre Hopkins and Lamar Miller at running back. The start of the season we all were wondering where is the explosive offense we saw last year before DeShaun Watson got hurt.

After their win in Indianapolis we saw that offense kick it to another gear and the defense was getting turnovers and stops like if they were the number 1 defense in football.

In the playoffs we saw the pile of injuries the Texans had come back to haunt them because they had such a lack of depth against the Colts who beat them 21 to 7.

After that game we all saw they need help at defensive tackle, secondary, offensive line and tightend.

Coming into this offseason the Texans will have 83 million to spend which could help them out a lot.

I do believe they will resign safety Tyrann Mathieu, and target corners Jason Verrrett, Eric Rowe. After that I do not see them making moves outside of letting linebacker Jadeveon Clowney walk in free agency.

I think they will address the line in this draft.

1st: Devin Bush LB, 2nd: Damien Harris RB, 2nd: Chase Winovich DE, 3rd: Saivion Smith CB, 5th: Terry Beckner Jr DT.

The Texans are good team but the lack depth a key positions which cause them a early exit in the playoffs. That is why I have them drafting defensive lineman becuase they had so much trouble getting to Andrew Luck in the playoffs and the running game was missing.
