NFL offseason Preview: Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys had a good season, it started out really rough but ended really well.

The Cowboys were a .500 team at best for the first half of the year 3-5. After they made a trade for Amri Cooper they offense finally kicked it into gear. They were able to the balance offense for the second half of the year winning 7 out of 8 games to finish 10-6.

The success kept going into the playoffs they were able to beat the Seattle Seahawks 24 to 22. But their ride ended when they played the Los Angeles rams who rushed for over 270 yards that game which led to them losing by the score of 30 to 22.

The Cowboys are coming into offseason with holes in wide receiver, tightend, defensive end, and safety.

Rumors have been confirmed that soon to be free agent Earl Thomas III wants to be a Dallas Cowboy but he will not give the Cowboys a home town discount.

That will hurt Dallas chances of signing Thomas because they have to now they have to sign quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, and wide receiver Amari Cooper to extension with only 48 million left in their salary cap.

So in general I do not see Dallas signing Thomas but will try to find ways to pay their new Triplets on offense. Plus they also have to sign defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence to a new deal because they franchise tag him.

I do believe Dallas will pay two of the triplets and trade one to get an replacement at that same position with a cheap deal that they can live with.

The draft is where they will try to find the next who ever it is that they let go.

2nd: Jeffery Simmons DE, 3rd:Yodhy Cajuste OT, 4th: Will Harris S, 5th: Darius Slayton WR.

Anything can happen in the NFL, so maybe the Cowboys make a big trade before the draft where they do get a 1st round pick in return. Seeing the past Jerry Jones does not really trade players on expiring contracts.

If history repeats itself I see them Cowboys picking guys to see if they can be as good as one of the triplets and go on from there.
