Coming into this year in baseball we have powerhouses in the American League and the National League is wide open for the taking. Here are the division winners
NL East: Atlanta Braves
NL Central: Milwaukee Brewers
NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Wild Cards: Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals
I do think their will be the same division winners in the National League but I see the 3 NL East team in the playoffs because out of all the divisions the East is loaded. The Braves have the best overall team. The Phillies and Nationals are similar teams, the Phillies have the hitting to match up with anyone and the Nationals have the pitching.
AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Cleveland Indians
AL West: Houston Astros
AL Wild Cards: New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays
The AL East will be the a dog fight until the end of season. The Rays, Red Soxs and Yankees are all very good teams that can take can take on anyone. For the AL Central the Indians will have a cake walk to another title because their is no other team in that division that looks like a playoff team.
The AL West will not be that interesting because their is only one good team and it is the Houston Astros. No team other than the Astros can win in that divison because the Oakland A’s are an inconsistent team one year they are good next year they suck . So I do not trust the A’s to make a push this year.
The AL Central was the easiest division to predict because it is the Cleveland Indians and no one else. The Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins are about 2 years away from being serious playoff contenders, both teams need more time to develop as a team.
This year we might see the same result in baseball over the past 2 years. An American League team will win the World Series But who?
