WOW. The Los Angeles Clippers just made arguably the two biggest moves this whole offseason. The Los Angeles Clippers agreed to terms with Kawhi Leonard and are set to acquire Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The news originally broke around 2 am that the Clippers were going to acquire Paul George, then about an hour or so after new broke that Kawhi Leonard will sign with the Clippers.
I was in complete shock when I heard this. Supposedly, Kawhi was thinking between the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors, leaving the Clippers out of the sweepstakes. Kawhi fooled us all.
I thought this was so smart. Kawhi made sure a report was out there that the Clippers were not in his final decision. So, the Clippers can make the trade for Paul George with out a problem.
Don’t get wrong the Clippers gave up A LOT for George. They gave up five 1st round picks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Danilo Gallinari. The Thunder got a lot back in return for George. This was not a bad deal for the Thunder, I can say both teams in the trade are winners.
But the Clippers might be the ultimate winners of this trade when it is all said-and-done.
Kawhi saw what George did last year, he knew if they were to team up they can cause some serious damage in the NBA with the Clippers.
Now the Clippers should be the Vegas Favorites to win the NBA title next season. This Clippers team took a healthy Warriors team to 6 games, now they just add the best two-way player in basketball Kawhi Leonard and MVP candidate Paul George.
That is insane. I truly do believe the Clippers are the best team in basketball right now. They do not have any holes on that team. They have their stars, good bench and great coach.
Congrats Clipper Nation. Those are two best offseason moves I have ever seen.
