“You Don’t Have To Have A Rushing Champion To Win A Super Bowl” Jerry Jones. That comment told us all that Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have gone to negotiation war with Ezekiel Elliott.
Zeke wants to get paid like a top 5 running back which he should be. But, the Cowboys need to also pay quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver Amari Cooper, defensive back Bryon Jones and linebacker Jaylon Smith.
I do believe the Cowboys will pay Zeke his his money but, they can listen to teams who might give the Cowboys a pretty nice package to get the two time rushing champ.
Here are the best trade packages for two time rushing champ.
4. Green Bay Packers
Packer receive: Ezekiel Elliott
Cowboys receive: Aaron Jones, 2019 2nd round pick
If the Cowboys want to get a running back under contract for a couple of years they should go after Aaron Jones. Jones is a very good running back. When Jones was on the field he was a factor with that ok offensive line the Packers had. Imagine Jones behind that Cowboys line.
3. San Francisco 49ers
49ers receive: Ezekiel Elliott
Cowboys receive: Jerick McKinnon, 2019 2nd round pick, 2020 5th round pick.
The 49ers have been looking for running back for a while so all the pressure is not on quarterback Jimmy Garroppolo. This could be a big opportunity to get a big package back from the 49ers. Jerick McKinnon is a nice running back he just needs a shot to prove himself. I do believe if McKinnon goes to the Cowboys he will prove a lot of people wrong.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buccaneers receive: Ezekiel Elliott
Cowboys receive: 2019 1st round pick, 2019 5th round pick, 2020 2nd round pick
This is the safest trade for the Dallas Cowboys if they were to trade Zeke because the Buccaneers aren’t going anywhere. They have to compete with the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers in their division.
Yeah the offense for the Buccaneers will be dangerous but the defense will still give up a ton of points. The best part of this trade for the Cowboys is that they will get a lot off assets back in return for Zeke if they trade him to the Buccaneers.
1. Indianapolis Colts
Colts receive: Ezekiel Elliott
Cowboys receive: Marlon Mack, 2019 2nd round pick, 2020 4th round pick
The Colts are the perfect trade partner for the Cowboys. The Colts are in a different conference, have a ton of assets and they are in win now mode. The Cowboys can take advantage of the Colts if they decide to trade with them. The Cowboys can get a running back who is under contract for two more years and will give you 1,000 yards rushing with about 250 yards receiving. I really like this trade for the Cowboys because they can get picks and a solid running back.
