Top 5 Landing Spots for Ron Rivera

Earlier, this week the Carolina Panthers fired head coach Ron Rivera after falling to 5-7 record. Rivera nearly coached nine seasons with the team.

Rivera has proven to be a good head coach in the NFL. He has led the Panthers to four playoff appearances with one Super Bowl appearance, which very hard to do.

I don’t think it will not be long before Ron Rivera finds a new team. The only questions is which team will sign him.

Here are the top five landing spots for the former Carolina Panthers head coach.

5. New York Jets

The New York Jets have failed to live up the expectations that have set for themselves this year. A big reason why they have not lived up to those expectations is because of coaching.

Adam Gase has shown he is not a good coach. No matter how much talent you give him, he will underachieve.

I do believe Rivera can help the Jets make huge strides in the AFC.

4. Washington Redskins

The Washington Reskins already fired their head coach Jay Gruden earlier this year, and they are already looking for a new head coach.

Rivera can come in there and can change the team for the better, especially on defense. The Skins already play a 3-4 defense which is defense Rivera ran in Carolina.

The only thing he will have to worry about is the offense. The offense is weak upfront and they lack playmakers which hurts them a lot. I Do think the Skins will improve a lot if Rivera becomes there next head coach.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have shown they are one big mess. From playing in the AFC Championship game two seasons ago to last place in their division last year and so far this year.

It seems like the team has already lost faith in current head coach Doug Marrone. They need a new voice in that locker room to motivate the players.

Plus, the Jaguars identity fits Rivera’s scheme which is run the football and play defense.  I really like this landing spot more than others for Rivera.

2. New York Giants

The New York Giants are currently in rebuild mode and it does not look good at all. It even looks like head coach Pat Shurmur is going to be fired at the end of the season.

Shurmur and Dave Gettleman let a lot of talent walk out the door for nothing last year and it looks like they made a big mistake because they are awful on defense, offense, and special teams.

If Rivers becomes the next head coach of the Giants they might improve to a 7-9 team, which will show improvement in the right direction.

1.Dallas Cowboys

This might be the best fit for Rivera but will Jerry Jones eat his pride to make this happen.

I think we all believe that the Dallas Cowboys will fire Jason Garrett at the end of the season. The Cowboys have one of the most talented rosters in all of football and they are right now 6-7.

If the Cowboys had a good coach they might be 9-4 right now. They would cruising into the playoffs, but they come into games looking unprepared all in phases of the game.

I do believe if Jerry Jones swallows his pride the Cowboys will be Super Bowl contenders if they hire Ron Rivera.
