NFL Mock Draft Pick 1-16

Finally, some kind of sporting is happening this week. Yes, there was NFL free agency but it didn’t bring that much excitement as it usually did. Also, there weren’t that many stars in free agency. But this draft is full of stars.

There are so many playmakers at receiver, cornerback, running back and quarterback. I expect this draft to be one of the most exciting drafts in NFL history.

Here is my NFL Mock Draft (Yes, trades might happen, but for this purpose, I did not involve them).

1.Cincinnati Bengals – QB, Joe Burrow

The Bengals need a fresh start overall as a team. And the way to start building a team is through the quarterback spot. Burrow can do it all and he is hands down the best quarterback in this draft.

2. Washington Redskins- DE, Chase Young

For the past couple of seasons the Redskins never really had a rusher that made opposing teams game plan for. That is why I have the Redskins drafting Young. He is a game-changing pass rusher can be an impact player right away.

3. Detriot Lions- LB, Isiah Simmons

We all know the Lions have a good offense that can score points, but we also know that they have a below-average defense. Isiah Simmons can help the Lions defense trend in the right direction. He can play all three levels of the defense which is a huge plus for the Lions.

4. New York Giants – OL, Jedrick Wills

I don’t see the New York Giants making any splashy moves in this draft. To me, the Giants should address their defense because they are really bad on defense. But with Daniel Jones at quarterback, I do believe they will draft an offensive lineman.

5. Miami Dolphins- QB, Tua Tagovailoa

After all of those offseason moves the Dolphins did, I do see them taking Tua with this pick. Miami has been kicking themselves ever since they let Drew Brees walk out the door because of an injury. I think Miami will take the risk and get Tua despite his injury history.

6. Los Angeles Chargers- QB, Justin Herbert

As we all know Philip Rivers is no longer a Charger which has left the team looking for a franchise quarterback. I do believe the Chargers will take Herbert because he is the opposite of Philip Rivers. Rivers would put the ball in harm’s way a lot which led to a lot of losses, Herbert usually plays it safe and doesn’t turn over the ball a lot.

7. Carolina Panthers- CB, Jeff Okudah

After losing some players to free agency, the Panthers do not have much depth in the secondary. So, I see the Panthers taking the best press corner in the whole draft Jeff Okudah. I do believe the Panthers will make him the building block of their defense.

8. Arizona Cardinals-  OT, Tristain Wrifs

After making arguably the biggest splash in free agency with the De’Andre Hopkins trade the Cardinals have shown they are all in on Kyler Murray. In order for Kyler Murray to get the ball to his receivers, he will need protection from his offensive line. That why I have the Cardinals drafting the best offensive tackle in the whole draft.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars- CB, CJ Henderson

After trading away nearly the whole defense that took the Jaguars to the AFC Championship game in the 2017 season. I see them restarting their defense with CJ Henderson to replace the voids of Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye.

10. Cleveland Browns- DT, Derrick Brown

Cleveland does need a lot of help at offensive line, but if Brown slips all the way to 10. I think Cleveland will draft Brown. He very good against the run and can rush the passer very well for his size. To me, he is the best rusher behind Chase Young in this draft.

11. New York Jets- WR, Jerry Jeudy

The Jets need a lot on offense because it can’t just be Sam Darnold and LeVeon Bell. They need a threat at receiver after losing Robby Anderson in free agency. I think Jeudy will be the right fit for the Jets. He is a great route runner who can make plays.

12. Las Vegas Raiders- WR, CeeDee Lamb

The Raiders made a lot of moves this offseason to improve their defense as a whole. So it looks like they will go almost all offense in the draft because they need playmakers. Derek Carr needs a number one receiver and CeeDee Lamb could be the guy. The Raiders like to run a sort of a West Coast offense which is the offense he played in Oklahoma.

13. San Franisco 49ers- WR, Henry Ruggs III

Last year the 49ers biggest problem was the lack of playmakers outside of George Kittle. Henry Rugg III could be the piece they are looking for. He has the speed that can blow the top off a defense and he is a solid route runner. I think he would be a great fit in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- OT, Mekhi Becton

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in win-now mode after acquiring Rob Gronkowski yesterday. So, I see them getting an offensive tackle so Tom Brady can get as much protection as possible. Becton is one the best tackles in the draft and has a very high ceiling.

15. Denver Broncos-  OT, Andrew Thomas

After seeing Drew Lock have some kind success I do believe the Broncos building an offensive line. Thomas is arguably the second-best tackle in this draft. Thomas has great length and athleticism for his size.

16. Atlanta Falcons- DT, Javon Kinlaw

For the past couple of seasons, the Falcons have had trouble stopping run. Which has been a big reason why they have not been successful. So, I think the Falcons will draft Kinlaw who was one of the best disruptors in all of college football. I think this is a great fit.
