Last week on Twitter Raheem Mostert agent Brett Tessler tweeted that Raheem Mostert has requested a trade after contract talk with the San Francisco 49ers fell apart.
Rumors came out that Mostert wants to be paid like his teammate Tevin Coleman who will make 4.5 million this year. Mostert is schedule to make 2.5 million this upcoming season after helping 49ers get to the Super Bowl this past season.
The difficult part about this is that most teams already have number one running back. So the potential trade partners for the 49ers are very limited. If the 49ers chose to trade him they might not get as much in return.
Here are the best trade packages for Raheem Mostert:
Eagles receive: Raheem Mostert and 2021 6th round pick
49ers receive: 2021 3rd round pick and 2021 7th round pick
I like this trade for both sides. The Eagles get another back to pair with Miles Sanders and that help take some of the load off of Carson Wentz. The Eagles offense is almost complete, what they need is running is a consistent running game which Mostert might be able to bring to the table.
Los Angeles Rams
Rams receive: Raheem Mostert
49ers receive: 2021 3rd and 6th round pick
This is one trade I really don’t see happening because they are division rivals but this trade makes so much sense. The Rams need a starting running back since they let go of Todd Gurley in March in 2020. And the 49ers need draft picks because a lot of players are going to be due for contracts soon and they might not be able to sign all of them.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buccaneers receive: Raheem Mostert
49ers receive: Ronald Jones II and 2021 5th round pick
The Buccaneers are in win now mode which means they are willing to risk draft capital in order to build the best team possible. I can see the 49ers getting a really good return from the Bucs. Plus with the way Kyle Shanahan designs his offense I think he can the most of Ronald Jones II. This would be trade I would try to get done if I’m the 49ers.
Jaguars receive: Raheem Mostert and 2021 6th round pick
49ers receive: Leonard Fournette and 2021 7th round pick
This is arguably the best trade the 49ers. Because it’s not everyday you can trade for a top ten running back. Yes, Fournette has not been fully healthy for the past couple of seasons but when healthy he is one of the best backs in the league. The only thing that might stop this trade is the contract of Fournette. We know Fournette has been wanting a new contract for a while and I do think the 49ers will be willing to give it to him if they can get this deal done.
